Amari Latimer is a true freshman running back for West Virginia from Fairburn, Georgia, where he attended Sandy Creek High School. At Sandy Creek, Latimer established himself as the program's all-time leading rusher with 5,595 yards and 78 touchdowns across four seasons. During his senior year, he recorded 2,409 rushing yards with 44 touchdowns on 250 carries, including a single-game performance of 287 yards and seven touchdowns against Whitewater. A four-star recruit ranked 265th nationally in the 2026 class, Latimer was named the 2025 GHSA Most Valuable Player and a USA Today All-USA Southeast second-team selection.
