Lucas Austin is a 6'5", 305-pound right guard from Sterling, Illinois, where he played offensive and defensive lines at Sterling High School under coach Jon Schlemmer. A three-star recruit in the 2024 class, Austin earned multiple accolades in high school, including 2023 Illinois State Football Coaches Association 3A Honorable-Mention and two-time All-Western Big-6 First-Team honors. He redshirted during the 2024 season at West Virginia. At Virginia Tech in 2025, Austin appeared in 11 games primarily on special teams. He is majoring in biology.
