Background & career

Kyle Altuner is a center for Virginia Tech who transferred from West Virginia. A three-star recruit from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Frederick, Maryland, he redshirted during the 2024 season. In 2025, Altuner started all 12 games at center and played 793 snaps, more than double any other Power Four freshman at the position. He anchored an offense that ranked third in the ACC with 182.4 rushing yards per game and allowed only two sacks all season. Against No. 13 Georgia Tech on October 11 and No. 16 Louisville on November 1, he recorded his strongest performances without surrendering a sack in either contest.
