Talan Carter is a 6'1", 280-pound nose tackle from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, who transferred to Vanderbilt as a junior. At Ocean Springs High School, Carter earned First-Team All-State honors in Class 7A and was named Region 4-7A Player of the Year. His senior season included 45 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and one interception. At Jacksonville State, Carter appeared in 11 games as a freshman in 2024, recording 26 tackles with 12 solo stops and registering his first career sack in an overtime win at Louisiana Tech. In 2025, he appeared and started all 12 games for the Gamecocks, tallying 7 tackles and 1 sack in a victory over Kennesaw State.
