Elijah Rooney is a 6'5", 230-pound tight end for Vanderbilt. The New Smyrna Beach, Florida native attended Boone High as a junior, where he played football and lacrosse. During his senior year at New Smyrna Beach High, Rooney passed for 1,019 yards and eight touchdowns while adding 752 rushing yards and nine scores. He recorded three 100-plus yard rushing performances, including 182 yards with three touchdowns against Leon HS. As a junior, he threw for 585 yards with an 8-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Rooney is a returning junior in 2026.
