Michael Petro is a placekicker for UTSA who stands 5'9" and weighs 180 pounds. A native of Flower Mound, Texas, he attended Marcus High School, where he was a two-time all-district selection. During the 2024 Myrtle Beach Bowl, Petro made his first appearance as a Roadrunner, converting his only extra-point attempt in a 44-15 victory over Coastal Carolina. In 2025, he emerged as UTSA's primary placekicker, making 17 of 20 field goals and all 56 extra-point attempts for 107 points, which ranks third in program single-season scoring. His 85 percent field goal percentage ranked third in the American Conference and 26th in the FBS. He connected on 3 of 4 attempts from 40-plus yards and made a 45-yard field goal, the longest of his season.
