Background & career

Marcus Torres is a wide receiver for the UTEP Miners from El Paso, Texas, who attended Pebble Hills High School. He played three varsity seasons there, accumulating 1,719 yards on 113 receptions with 19 touchdowns, plus 215 rushing yards and four touchdowns across 34 games. Torres appeared in three games as a true freshman in 2024 before taking a redshirt. In 2025, he played in nine games and recorded four receptions for 22 yards, including his first collegiate catch (six yards) against Texas and a long reception of eight yards against ULM. He currently enters his second year of eligibility as a redshirt sophomore.
