Kam Thomas is a miner back from Birmingham, Alabama, who prepped at Ramsay High School as a wide receiver and cornerback before beginning his college career at Austin Peay in 2022. In 2023, he appeared in 12 games for the Governors, recording 50 receptions for 629 yards and five touchdowns while adding 12 punt returns for 267 yards and two scores. Thomas transferred to UTEP and started all nine games in 2024, earning All-Conference USA first-team honors as a punt returner. He led the Miners with 871 all-purpose yards and tied for the team lead with 47 receptions for 532 yards and two touchdowns, while returning a punt 93 yards for a score. In 2025, Thomas started the season opener before sustaining an injury that ended his campaign early, recording 36 rushing yards on 16 carries, 26 receiving yards on four catches, and 24 punt return yards on five attempts.
