Michael Johnson is a true freshman quarterback for the Utah Utes from Ellenwood, Georgia. A three-star recruit ranked 966th nationally, Johnson transferred to Douglas County High School for his senior season, where he completed 2,331 passing yards with 10 touchdowns and added 544 rushing yards and 11 scores, earning first-team all-offense recognition from Georgia High School Football Daily. At Dutchtown High School as a junior, he threw for 2,700 yards and 24 touchdowns while rushing 618 yards and 10 scores across 130 carries, leading the Bulldogs to a 7-5 record and the second round of the 5A state playoffs.
