The sophomore from Laie, Hawaii, attended Kahuku High School, where he was a four-star recruit rated as the No. 3 player in Hawaii and the 33rd-best safety nationally on recruiting services. He earned All-State honors as a senior and co-won the Cover2 Mati Te'o Award for Defensive Player of the Year, helping Kahuku to back-to-back state championships in 2021 and 2022.
