Carl Fauntroy is a safety for UL Monroe from Mobile, Alabama, who attended Spanish Fort High School. A three-star recruit from the class of 2022, Fauntroy initially joined UAB as a redshirt freshman in 2023 before transferring to the Warhawks. In his 2024 redshirt sophomore season, he appeared in 10 games with nine starts and recorded 55 total tackles, four pass breakups, an interception, and a forced fumble. During the 2025 season, Fauntroy made nine appearances with five starts, registering 35 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and a pass breakup. He now returns as a fifth-year player wearing number 8.
