Deron McLaughlin is a 6'4", 270-pound center from Park Ridge, New Jersey, where he was a two-time All Bergen County lineman. During his senior year at Park Ridge High School, his team compiled a 7-3 record with a 4-0 conference mark. McLaughlin redshirted as a freshman at UConn in 2024. In his redshirt-freshman season (2025), he appeared in three games, including matchups against CCSU on August 30, FIU on October 4, and Army West Point on December 27 at Fenway Park in Boston.
