Kahmel Johnson is a safety who transferred to UCF from Wayne State College. The 6'2", 200-pound Jacksonville native played two seasons at the NCAA Division II level in Nebraska. As a redshirt freshman in 2025, Johnson appeared in 11 games and recorded 37 tackles, including 18 solo tackles and 0.5 tackle for loss. He registered three interceptions and nine pass breakups for 12 passes defended, ranking third in the NSIC, and earned First Team All-Conference honors in the NSIC South Division. Johnson attended Riverside High School in Florida, where he recorded 14 tackles, four passes defended, one interception and one fumble recovery during his senior season.
