Cooper Young is a 6'4", 310-pound right guard from Downingtown, PA, who transferred to UAB from West Virginia. At Downingtown West, Young earned All-Ches-Mont League First Team honors as an offensive lineman in 2022 and Second Team in 2021, along with BCFCA All-Academic team selection. He received the mini maxwell award, recognizing the top 50 football players in Pennsylvania for classroom and field performance. Young redshirted in 2023 after appearing against Duquesne and BYU, including a season-high 12 snaps against Duquesne. He did not see game action in 2024 and was named to the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team.
