Cooper Helmke is a placekicker for Tulane who hails from Metairie, Louisiana, where he attended St. Martin's Episcopal School. Before taking up kicking in high school, Helmke played soccer for 13 years. During his senior season, he also lined up as a wide receiver and handled punting duties. He posted a career long of 49 yards and attended Kohl's National Underclassmen Challenge Camp. Following high school, Helmke competed in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl, where he made three field goals and earned East team MVP honors. The 6'3", 199-pound redshirt freshman currently returns to the Green Wave roster.
