Shemar Welch is a 6'1", 162-pound cornerback from Mobile, AL, who attended McGill-Toolen HS. A redshirt freshman at Troy, Welch appeared in four games during the 2024 season, recording three tackles with two coming against Georgia Southern and one against Southern Miss while playing 36 defensive snaps. In 2025, he saw action in 10 games primarily on special teams, logging 69 snaps across punt return and kickoff coverage units. His defensive work included 25 snaps in games against Clemson and Memphis, where he recorded tackles in three contests. Welch is majoring in sport management.
