Jamond Mathis is a 6'1", 250-pound defensive end from Saint Charles, Missouri, who attended Duchesne High School where he set a school record with 23.0 career sacks. He committed to Southern Illinois, appearing in four games as a true freshman in 2023 before redshirting. As a redshirt freshman in 2024, Mathis recorded 30 tackles, 8.5 for loss, and 3.0 sacks across 12 games with seven starts. He transferred to Kent State for 2025, earning All-MAC second team honors while collecting 28 tackles, 8.0 for loss, and 6.0 sacks in 12 games with two starts.
