Holden Phillips is a redshirt freshman quarterback for Texas Tech from Lubbock, Texas, where he attended Frenship High School. As a senior in 2024, Phillips completed 261 of 349 pass attempts for 4,438 yards, 57 touchdowns and seven interceptions, leading the state in passing yards. He posted a 74.8 completion percentage and 57 passing touchdowns, both school records for a single season. During the 2024 season opener against Trophy Club Nelson, Phillips threw for 508 yards and five touchdowns. He enrolled at Texas Tech in December and appeared in one game during the 2025 season against Oklahoma State on 10/25, completing his only pass attempt for eight yards while rushing once for three yards.
