Joey Schlaffer is a 6'5" tight end from Reading, Pennsylvania, who attended Exeter Township High School. A four-year starter, he compiled 2,493 receiving yards and 28 receiving touchdowns in county records while earning all-state honors in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Schlaffer played at Penn State, redshirting in 2023, then appearing in three games in 2024 and earning Developmental Squad Offensive Player of the Week honors. In 2025, he played in three games and recorded his first career reception—a 19-yard touchdown against Villanova. He transferred to Temple in January 2026 as a redshirt junior.
