C.J. Van Buren is a right guard from Stafford, Virginia, who attended North Stafford High School before playing at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. He made his collegiate debut in 2021 and redshirted that season while participating in four games. In 2023, he earned two starts at right guard, and in 2024 he started all 12 games at left guard for the Lions. Van Buren transferred to Temple for the 2025 season, providing depth on the offensive line and making his debut against Howard. He made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll with a 3.0-plus GPA and competes as a redshirt senior in 2026.
