A four-star recruit ranked No. 224 nationally and No. 12 at his position by recruiting services, Shelton recorded 105 receptions for 1,720 yards and 27 touchdowns across his final three high school seasons at Ranchview, including 57 catches for 950 yards and 15 scores as a senior. In 2025, his freshman year, Shelton appeared in five games and recorded three receptions for 29 yards, including two catches for 27 yards in the Alamo Bowl victory over USC.
