Byron Washington is a right guard for Syracuse Orange who hails from DeSoto, TX, where he played under head coach Claude Mathis. A three-star recruit rated by recruiting services, Washington arrived on campus as a true freshman in 2025. He appeared in nine games with three starts, accumulating 398 snaps—396 at right guard—and ranked in the top-10 of FBS true freshman guards for snaps played during the regular season. Making his debut against Colgate on 9/12, Washington earned his first start versus North Carolina on 10/31. On 226 pass blocking snaps, he allowed two sacks and zero quarterback hits according to Pro Football Focus. Washington, a Communication & Rhetorical Studies major, returns as a sophomore.
