Mario Sanders is a 5'10", 191-pound wide receiver from Minneapolis, Minnesota, who attended Minneapolis North HS. He began his college career at Iowa Central Community College in 2023, where he was redshirted in 2022. During his 2023 NJCAA season, Sanders recorded 72 receptions for 942 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns, earning 2023 NJCAA All-American First Team honors and ICCAC Offensive Player of the Year. He transferred to Illinois, where he appeared in three games during the 2025 season with two catches for 32 yards, including an 18-yard reception against Maryland. Sanders now plays for Southern Miss as a redshirt senior.
