Lawson Thorn is a transfer kicker from Wingate University who joined South Florida in January 2026. The 6'2", 200-pound Charleston, SC native spent three seasons at the Division II level. In 2025, he appeared in six games and produced 33 kickoffs for 2,073 yards with a 62.8-yard average and 25 touchbacks. During his 2023 campaign, Thorn kicked off 59 times for 3,542 yards, averaging 60.0 yards with 25 touchbacks across 11 games. He previously excelled at Cane Bay High School, converting 22 of 24 PATs and 3 of 3 field goals on an undefeated squad, then 25 of 25 PATs and 4 of 5 field goals the following undefeated season.
