Tyler Carter is a defensive lineman for South Alabama, standing 6'4" and weighing 290 pounds. The Vicksburg, Mississippi native attended Vicksburg HS, where he earned All-State honors, recorded seven pass deflections as a senior, and was selected to the Alabama-Mississippi High School All-Star Game. Carter received three-star ratings from both recruiting services before committing to South Alabama over Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, and six other programs. He redshirted his freshman year in 2024. In 2025, Carter appeared in one game against Southern Miss but did not record statistics. He returns as a redshirt sophomore for the 2026 season.
