Rod Gibbs is a senior tight end for South Alabama from Atlanta, Georgia, who began his college career at Hutchinson CC before transferring to the Jaguars. In 2024, his sophomore season, he appeared in 11 games primarily in a blocking role and caught one pass for four yards against Georgia Southern. During the 2025 campaign, Gibbs played in all 12 games and earned a starting assignment in the win over ULM. He finished the year with six receptions for 52 yards and one touchdown, including a 15-yard reception against Southern Miss and two catches for 10 yards plus a score at North Texas.
