Yannick Smith is a 6'3" wide receiver from Summerville, South Carolina, who transferred to SMU after two seasons at East Carolina. At ECU, Smith caught 25 passes for 434 yards with three touchdowns as a freshman in 2024, appearing in all 13 games with three starts. He posted a career-high 112 receiving yards against North Texas and scored touchdowns of 16, 28, and 52 yards against Temple, North Texas, and Navy, respectively. In 2025, his sophomore year, Smith saw action in 11 games, recording 44 receptions for 583 yards and five touchdowns while earning Fourth-Team Preseason All-AAC honors from Athlon Sports.
