Derrick McFall is a running back from Tyler, Texas, who joined SMU as a four-star recruit in the 2024 class. He redshirted his freshman year in 2024 after appearing in five games. In 2025, as a redshirt freshman, McFall appeared in 13 games and rushed 35 times for 189 yards and four touchdowns. He added 19 receptions for 160 yards and two receiving touchdowns, totaling six scores tied for second on the team. McFall recorded a 48-yard rushing long and a 27-yard receiving long, including 64 yards and three touchdowns against Boston College on November 8.
