Abel Hoopii is an offensive lineman for the SMU Mustangs who hails from Anianiku, Hawai'i and attended Farrington High School. A consensus three-star prospect, Hoopii chose SMU over offers from Hawai'i, San Jose State, Arizona State, and Washington State. In his freshman year during 2025, he appeared in 10 games primarily on special teams, making his collegiate debut against East Texas A&M on August 30. Hoopii currently enters his sophomore season as a returning member of the roster.
