Tyler Chen is a right tackle for San José State at 6'2" and 278 pounds. The RS SO/TR from Rancho Cucamonga, California, transferred to SJSU after playing at Utah Tech in 2023 and Weber State in spring 2023. In 2024, his first season with the Spartans, he started at left guard and center across four games as part of an offensive line that ranked ninth nationally and third in the Mountain West with only 12 sacks allowed. During the 2025 season, Chen appeared in 11 games with eight starts, lining up at right guard, right tackle, and left tackle across various matchups. He earned Academic All-Mountain West honors in 2024 and 2025, and was named a preseason third-team all-conference selection by both Athlon Sports and Phil Steele for 2026.
