Jackson Barton is a safety from Phoenix, Arizona, who attended Sandra Day O'Connor High School. A three-star recruit in the 2024 class, he initially committed to Nevada. During his high school career, Barton recorded 34 tackles as a junior and 33 tackles (27 solo) with eight pass breakups as a senior in 2023. He also blocked a field goal and picked off a pass during his prep years. Barton redshirted in 2024 at Nevada, appearing in four games on special teams. In 2025, he saw action in six games, primarily on special teams, and made his season debut against New Mexico on October 18. He has since transferred to San José State as a redshirt sophomore.
