Hunter Nowell is a safety from Huntington Beach, California, who attended St. John Bosco High School and Jserra Catholic High School. During his senior season, he recorded multiple defensive plays including tackles for loss and a sack. Nowell joined San José State as a freshman in 2023, appearing in one game. He saw action in eight games during 2024, primarily contributing on special teams. In 2025, he has played in three games, again mainly on special teams. A three-star recruit in the 2023 class, Nowell selected SJSU for its business program and interest in finance and economics.
