Kalan Ellis is a 6'5", 350-pound right guard from Waimanalo, Hawaii who attended St. Louis School, where he was rated the No. 7 prospect in Hawaii and earned three-star status. He was selected to the Polynesian Bowl and helped lead St. Louis to four HHSAA Division I State Championships. At Syracuse from 2021 to 2023, Ellis appeared in nine games as a true freshman with five starts, splitting time between left and right guard. In 2022, he played in 11 games including nine starts at left guard, allowing only one sack and nine pressures over 265 snaps per Pro Football Focus. A redshirt year in 2023 preceded a limited appearance that season due to injury. Ellis entered 2025 on the Polynesian Player of the Year Watch List and now transfers to San Diego State.
