Josiah Cox is a 6'1", 197-pound safety from San Diego, California, who plays for the Aztecs. A three-star recruit in the 2023 class, Cox attended Lincoln High School where he won a state title and earned defensive player of the year honors. He began his college career at Arizona State in 2023, appearing in 10 games and recording three tackles and a sack. Cox transferred to New Mexico State for 2024, appearing in 10 games with one start against No. 15 Texas A&M. He totaled 35 tackles and tied for the team lead with two interceptions, both coming against Sam Houston on September 21. In 2025, his first season at San Diego State, Cox appeared in all 13 games for the secondary, recording 23 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss.
