Elijah Groves is a 6'5", 245-pound linebacker from Cross Plains, Tennessee, who attended East Robertson High School. A 4-star recruit and the No. 2 linebacker in Tennessee, Groves recorded 114 tackles, 21 tackles for a loss, and a sack across 31 high school games, adding 6 interceptions, 4 forced fumbles, and a blocked field goal. He also competed in basketball, earning All-Robertson County honors and scoring over 1,000 career points. Groves redshirted during the 2024 season at NC State and did not appear in games in 2025 before entering the transfer portal to join Sam Houston.
