Elijah Ortiz is a 6'1", 305-pound center for Sacramento State. The Union City, Calif. native began his collegiate career at Southern Oregon in 2022 before transferring to Laney JC in Oakland, where he played in 2023. At Laney, he earned all-Bay 6 League honors and played both center and guard on a team that averaged 146.8 rushing yards per game. Ortiz is a 2022 graduate of James Logan HS, where he was named all-league as both a junior and senior and earned all-Bay Area recognition. He was a three-time varsity starter and served as captain his senior year.
