Steven Murray is a 6'0", 185-pound defensive back for Rutgers from Gibsonville, NC, where he attended Eastern Guilford High School under coach Tim Bagamary. As a two-way player, Murray compiled 103 tackles, 15 pass breakups and 12 interceptions on defense while adding 42 career touchdowns on the offensive side. During his senior season in 2024, he recorded 34 tackles, five pass breakups and three interceptions alongside 36 receptions for 606 yards and eight touchdowns as Eastern Guilford reached the 3A NCHSAA playoffs. Murray appeared on Rivals' top-15 prospect list for North Carolina and earned second-team all-state honors. He did not see game action during his freshman year in 2025 and is a returning sophomore.
