MJ Johnson is a 6'3", 225-pound linebacker from Detroit, Michigan who attended West Bloomfield High School. Johnson was a three-star recruit in the 2024 class, ranked No. 16 from Michigan by Rivals and No. 48 at his position by national outlets. During his junior year, he compiled 102 tackles, 25 tackles-for-loss, 4.5 sacks, three pass breakups, and one interception while serving as team captain for the Lakers, who finished 10-3 and reached the MHSAA-D1 semifinals. Johnson joined Rutgers as a freshman in 2024 and did not see game action that season or in 2025 as a sophomore. He is currently a returning junior for the Scarlet Knights.
