CJ Witten is a linebacker for Rice University wearing number 55. The 6'1", 225-pound redshirt freshman from Westlake, Texas, attended Liberty Christian High School, where he earned two TAPPS DII All-state selections and two district defensive player of the year honors. He recorded 112 tackles as a senior and 304 in his high school career while helping lead the Warriors to back-to-back state titles. During the 2025 season, Witten appeared in two games while redshirting, making his debut with three defensive plays against Prairie View and adding two plays versus Texas State in the Armed Forces Bowl.
