Charlie Durkin is a graduate transfer punter from Kent State who joined Rice for the 2026 season. The Akron, Ohio native punted for the Golden Flashes in 2025, averaging 41.4 yards on 49 attempts and ranking seventh in the MAC. He recorded six punts exceeding 50 yards, with a career-long of 63 yards at Florida State, and placed 14 punts inside the 20-yard line. Durkin earned MAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors in Kent State's 42-35 overtime victory over Akron, his hometown team, after recovering a punt he had placed inside the 10-yard line that set up a touchdown.
