Joey Tanona is a left tackle for the Purdue Boilermakers who transferred from Notre Dame. A consensus four-star recruit from Zionsville, Indiana, he was ranked No. 156 nationally and No. 16 at his position by recruiting services, and competed in the All-American Bowl. He did not appear in games during two seasons at Notre Dame due to injury. In 2024, his sophomore year at Purdue, Tanona appeared in 10 games with 56 offensive line snaps and 22 on special teams. As a junior in 2025, he started all 12 games at left tackle, recording 793 snaps at the position and 40 on field goals and extra points. He posted an 81.4 pass blocking grade against Ohio State on November 8 and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.
