Brayden Sweeney is a true freshman linebacker for Purdue from Grand Rapids, Michigan. At Catholic Central, he earned three-star recruitment status and was selected all-state twice. Rivals listed him among Michigan's top linebackers and top-31 prospects. He captured an MHSAA D5 state championship in 2023, earned all-conference honors three times, and was a two-time all-district selection. During his four high school seasons, Catholic Central compiled a 41-9 record and won two conference titles. Sweeney wears No. 42 and stands 6'2" at 230 pounds.
