Kanye Thompson is a left cornerback who transferred to Pittsburgh in January 2026 from Slippery Rock University. During four seasons with the Rock (2022–25), Thompson appeared in 24 games with 17 starts, recording 85 tackles, 13 pass breakups, 6.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks. He added a blocked kick and four forced fumbles in 2025, which ranked second among Division II players. Thompson earned Don Hansen Football All-America and First Team All-Region honors in 2025, along with All-PSAC West selection. The McKeesport, PA native lettered in multiple sports in high school and competed in track and field at the collegiate level.
