Justin Schmidt is a long snapper who transferred to Pittsburgh in January 2026 from Purdue, where he redshirted during the 2025 season. The 6'2", 240-pound native of Pittsburgh attended Thomas Jefferson High School, where he started four years as a long snapper and two years on the defensive line. He was ranked the top long snapper in Pennsylvania and no. 4 nationally by recruiting services, earned a 4.5-star rating from Kohl's Kicking Camp, and participated in the PSFCA Big 33 Game. Schmidt, a marketing major, wears No. 59 for the Panthers.
