John Wetzel is a linebacker for the Pittsburgh Panthers. The Latrobe, Pennsylvania native graduated from Greater Latrobe High School, where he competed on both offense and defense. As a senior quarterback, Wetzel recorded 914 passing yards and 1,076 rushing yards. On defense, he made 81 tackles with five for loss and returned an interception for a touchdown, earning Class 5A All-State honors.
