Tyler Armstead is a cornerback from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, where he attended Canon-McMillan High School. As a senior two-way player, he recorded 29 tackles, blocked four field goals, forced two fumbles, and intercepted a pass while adding 11 catches for 104 yards, earning second-team all-conference honors. Armstead redshirted during his true freshman season at Penn State in 2024, receiving five Developmental Squad Defensive Player of the Week awards and four special teams weekly honors. In his redshirt sophomore campaign, he appeared in two games and earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition.
