Owen Heinecke is a 6'1", 230-pound linebacker from Tulsa, Oklahoma, who transferred to Oklahoma after beginning his college career at Ohio State. He enrolled at OU in June 2022 and appeared in reserve and special teams roles during his first two seasons before emerging as a starter in 2025. In his final year, Heinecke played in all 13 games with five starts, including the final five contests. He recorded 74 tackles, 12.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, four pass breakups, and two quarterback hurries. Named All-SEC Second Team by the Associated Press and honored as an SEC Defensive Player of the Week, Heinecke also received OU's Don Key Award and was a Campbell Trophy semifinalist.
