Chris Barnes is a wide receiver from Houston's North Shore High School who spent 2024 as a redshirt at Washington State, appearing in three games with one start and catching one pass in the season-opening win against Portland State. He transferred to Wake Forest for 2025, his freshman season, where he earned Third Team All-ACC honors on special teams. Barnes recorded 39 receptions for 547 yards and three touchdowns while adding 13 carries for 143 yards. On kick return duty, he brought back seven kicks for 263 yards and a touchdown, posting the highest average among qualified returners. He totaled 953 all-purpose yards and was graded as the sixth-best wide receiver in the ACC by analytics services. Barnes now joins Oklahoma State as a transfer.
