Magnus Haines, a punter from Massillon, Ohio, is a graduate student at Ohio University majoring in Management and Leadership. He earned All-Ohio honors in his junior and senior seasons at Massillon High School, averaging 41.6 yards per punt as a senior. Haines began his college career at Kent State in 2021, appearing in two games with one 48-yard punt in his debut. After stints at Arkansas State (2022–24), where he made the athletic director's fall honor roll three times, he joined the Bobcats for the 2025 season. In 2025, Haines appeared in all 13 games, punting 40 times for 1,693 yards at a 42.3-yard average with a career-long 68 yards against Eastern Michigan on October 25. He placed 13 punts inside the 20-yard line.
