Jermaine Mathews Jr. is a 5'11", 190-pound left cornerback for the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Cincinnati, Ohio native enrolled in January 2023 as a four-star prospect ranked No. 47 nationally and No. 15 at his position. As a true freshman in 2023, he appeared in 11 games with one start and recorded 13 tackles, three pass deflections, and one interception returned for a 58-yard touchdown. In 2024, he played in all 16 games as part of a national championship team, accumulating 22 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sack across 528 snaps. During his 2025 junior season, Mathews started all 14 games, compiling 26 tackles, two interceptions for 28 yards, three pass deflections, 1.5 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sack. He earned Third Team All-Big Ten and Academic All-Big Ten honors. Now a senior in 2026, Mathews is a returning starter for the Buckeyes.
